The Skill

The Briq Engineering team is looking for an experienced ETL Engineer with experience working with BigQuery and Sage 300 databases, among others.

In this role, you will be challenged to work with various data sources in order to hydrate data into the Briq Construction Data Cloud, built on GCP. You will work closely with Customer Account Managers and Solutions Architects to understand business requirements, propose and validate designs with thorough documentation and data flow diagrams.

You will implement ETL procedures for new projects and maintain awareness and oversight of all active ETL projects. You will analyze and interpret complex data and propose resolutions to potential issues. Once implemented, you will perform tests and validate all data flows are functioning and meeting the defined business requirements.

As a successful ETL Engineer at Briq, you bring a strong business acumen to the table and you enjoy working with clients, CSMs, data analysts and developers to ensure optimal customer satisfaction and seek a highly collaborative, fast-paced work environment.

On a normal day at Briq, an ETL Engineer will:

  • Meet with Customer Account Managers, Solutions Architects, and clients to understand business requirements
  • Break down complex requests into manageable business requirements for ETL
  • Develop and propose sustainable database architecture standards
  • Overcome challenges to access data from multiple unique sources
  • Leverage various tools to develop recipes for the automated transformation of updated data
  • Writing advanced SQL in order to deliver on complex business requirements
  • Perform testing of new and existing projects
  • Maintain and upgrade existing projects to new standards
  • Develop client-facing documentation of ETL processes and data flow diagrams
  • Develop and propose improved ETL processes and standards that enables Briq to more quickly deliver value to clients
